Take a moment to congratulate yourself—you are in the final week of class!
Over the past 5 weeks, you reflected on what success looks like for yourself, considered how to best manage your time, practiced setting attainable goals, and learned about the importance of self-esteem and positive thinking. In our final week, we will examine motivation and self-discipline. Motivation helps drive us toward our goals, while self-discipline can keep us on track.

Act
Before you draft your response to this discussion, be sure to read through all of this week’s materials.
Respond to all of the following:
- Visualization is a powerful tool to have in your motivation toolbox. For this week’s Summative Assessment: My Vision Board and Reflection Worksheet, you will take time to visualize your goals, not just the outcome, and each step to get there. Do you see a relationship between the process and practice of visualizing and maintaining motivation? Explain how you perceive the relationship or lack of it.
- Self-discipline is taking responsibility for your willingness and desire to finish tasks and reach your goals. This week’s readings discussed several ways to increase your level of self-discipline. Which of the strategies discussed this week do you think you will use to increase your level of self-discipline in your life? Share a bit about why you think those strategies will work best for you.
